The Moon Rabbit's Garden
High up on the moon, where the craters are filled with silver dust, there lived a rabbit named Luna. She had the most important job in the universe: she grew dreams.
Luna's garden was full of glowing flowers. Blue ones grew dreams about the ocean. Pink ones grew dreams about birthday parties. Purple ones grew dreams about flying. And golden ones grew dreams about being hugged by someone you love.
Every night, Luna would harvest the ripest dreams. She packed them into tiny bubbles and blew them down to Earth, where they floated through windows and landed gently on children's pillows.
One night, a little boy named James couldn't sleep. He had just moved to a new house and missed his old home terribly. No dream bubbles seemed to help.
Luna watched from the moon, worried. She looked through her garden for something that might help, but nothing seemed right.
Then she had an idea. She hopped to a corner of her garden she had never planted. There, she dug a small hole and planted a single tear—her own tear, full of understanding and care.
Overnight, a new flower grew. It was silver, like the moon itself, and it glowed with a warm light.
"A dream of home," Luna whispered.
She put it in the biggest, shiniest bubble and sent it floating down, down, down to James's new bedroom.
James opened his eyes briefly as the bubble landed on his pillow. Pop! The dream surrounded him.
He dreamed of his old house and his new house blending together. He dreamed of his old friends playing with new friends. He dreamed of his mother's voice saying, "Home is wherever we're together."
When James woke up, he felt better. His new house wasn't so scary anymore. In fact, it was starting to feel like home.
Up on the moon, Luna smiled and went back to tending her garden. She had a lot of dreams to grow.
